I purchased these Shun Elite knives as a housewarming present for a friend. Once I got them home I started to have second thoughts about giving them away.
The edges are seriously scary-sharp, and the G2 steel seems to be very close in edge holding to the new supersteel ZDP-189, also a powder steel.
The handles are substantial, perfectly shaped, and provide a nice grip even when coated with slippery liquids.
Inlaid into the handles is a small circular Shun chop which adds a very nice low-key touch to these elegant knives.
Really, if I didn’t already own a set of William Henry kitchen knives which cost about twice as much, I would have immediately ordered another set for myself. They are superb knives for the price.
Properly cared for, these should last you a lifetime and give years of service.
The Shun Elite knives cut through things so easily it will make you gasp until you get used to it.

This is the best knife set on the market. I’ve have used other knife set similar price range and this is by far the best.
